MEASURING
1. Waist
Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, typically just above the belly button. Make sure the tape is snug but not tight. This is your true waist size.
2. Rise
The rise is the distance from the top of the waistband to the crotch seam. To measure, lay the jeans flat and measure from the top of the front waistband down to the crotch seam.
3.Length (OUTSEAM)
Lay the jeans flat and measure from the top of the waistband down the outside edge of the leg to the hem. This is your outseam length, which determines the overall length of the jeans.
4. Thigh
Measure across the thigh area, starting about 1–2 inches below the crotch. Multiply that number by two to get the full thigh measurement. This determines how fitted the jeans will feel on your upper legs.
5. Leg Opening
Lay one leg flat and measure across the bottom hem. Double this number to get the total leg opening. This measurement affects how the jeans fall over your shoes — from tapered to wide-leg styles.
